It's now just 5 insurers, and the average premium increase for individual health plans in 2014 is expected to be 50.78%. No wonder HHS is not releasing any information on our state's Federal-State partnership exchange until they absolutely have to.

I have some loyal United Healthcare/Golden Rule clients and prospects who will be VERY disappointed, if pans out to be true that UHC will not participate in the Illinois ABE health insurance exchange. (As Crains Business is reporting).

Crains Chicago Business is reporting that Illinois premiums for exchange plans will not be available until our Federally controlled exchange/marketplace opens for business on October 1, 2013.

Excerpt: "Illinois residents likely won't know more about policies and pricing until the Web-based marketplace opens Oct. 1, according to federal officials who addressed a group of health professionals and other stakeholders this week without explaining precisely why."
