It took me no longer than 45 days to make the change. My biggest issue was that Florida terminated my license without changing me over to nonresident status. A Florida state insurance representative called me and said that it appeared that my request wasn't processed correctly, and wanted to get the details regurgitated from the letter I had written. All in all, apart from the wee bit of frustration for the resident to nonresident change in Florida not happening seamlessly, it resolved fairly quickly.
