Follow Up Call?

Quick question.... How soon after an Insurance Agency asks for your resume would you make a follow up call?

I would call within 24 hours. I tried this once and it got my resume moved to the top of the stack and an interview the following week.

The next day....I would ask if they recieved it and if they had any questions you could help them answer.

Mutual of Omaha. I applied and then received a phone call. They then asked for my resume. I emailed it to them on Wednesday evening. I was planning for a follow up call on monday. Not outside of a week but it gives them a weekend of space also.

Read up on MOO. Odds are they're not going to offer you a salary or give you much support. Each office is different, but odds are you're better of getting hooked up with a good GA and going indy. Lot of good information on this forum if you can read through the junk.

I wasn't necessarily looking for a starting salary, my financial situation is stable for the next few months. But I was interested in the support. I am looking for a good amount of support and training. I suppose I will have to have a longer chat with the agent who contacted me, because I was under the impression that MoO offered a small starting salary (even though I don't need it,) and I was made to believe that they have some of the best training and support in my area. (Minneapolis, MN)

Very rarely have I scene either of those be the case with MOO. Ask to talk to some of the agents and see what the agents think and what the turnover is like. I'd also not be shy about asking what the agents are making and not in generalities, but if you're talking to a recruiter you should ask him how much he made last year and how much of that was his own production. I'd ask the same thing of the trainer if they're not the same person.
