Forethought people with experience. I have a healthy male in his mid 60's. He is healthy, other then a year ago Metformin was prescribed for about 4 months. It was later determined he didnt have diabetes. So they quit prescribing. I would like to use Forethought because of the situation with grandchildren he has. Does anyone know if forethought will flag this because it was within 2 yrs. and its ties to treating diabetes?

Thanks

if he's not on insulin it doesn't matter. Forethought is probably the most difficult FE carrier to get approved through, but they don't care about oral meds.

and you're confident they wont care about the timing of the prescription. I do know that this is something that will hold Foresters up, if the prescription start date falls within 2 yr window.

I agree, ForeThought shouldn't have a problem with it, but call an Underwriter and pre-screen the case. Make note of who you speak with and their comments and include that in a cover letter. Additionally, if you wanted to be doubly safe you could have the pi get a letter from his physician explaining the diagnosis of diabetes then the reversal of that diagnosis. Again, I doubt that this will be necessary though.

Just got an email from Forethought saying they are changing the application. The bad part sounds like, when you submit a level app, they will draw money even if approved graded. This won't give you a chance to say no and take it to another company.

We gave up Forethought a couple weeks ago. They seem to be a few years away from perfecting their FE program. We've had for about a year. It was too much hassle for the agents more often than not.

I thought their phone interview ended in a decision? Why would they need to change it?

Because they probably loose a lot of deals when they come back with graded. So they are going to make it harder for the client to back out by withdrawling their money.
