Has anyone ever tried offering a free seminar for educating on FE planning? Invite for a free meal and tell them up front what your plans are. (Educate, see if I can assist, etc.)

Count me in! I'm always looking for a free meal without obligation.
You might consider a seminar focusing on increasing the money you leave to loved ones and/or church. Focus on SPL.

I would think that a lot of the seniors would show up for the free meal, but not result in any appointments. Seniors like free things but I agree with Mark-offer something that won't cost you anything.

I would think that it wouldn't be cost effective. We did seminars for annuities that ran from $2,000 to $4,000. Hit some singles with the occasional home run. I might be wrong but with meals, renting space, prospecting costs (ads, telemarketing) the commissions might not be worth it for FE.
Have you ever heard the term "plate licker". If you haven't, I suspect you'll learn it real fast when offering a meal to the FE market.

I'm sure the guy that owns the auto body shop would due to the amount of business you cause.
