Free Medication

Thanks for all the tips, have prospect taking 2 drugs not listed on Medicare.gov, or covered by 2 plans so far. Levsin and the generic are shown on Silver Script as "not covered by all plans", and not covered on Humana's plans. I don't have time to search "all plans". Also using Estrogel, "not covered by Medicare D" according to Silver Script. After doing a price check on Humana's consumer Medicare site, where both drugs are over $1,000/yr, the goodrx link shows a great price on the generic of Levsin: $17.10 @ WalMart, and WalMart's price on Estrogel is about 10% lower than Humana's estimate.
May refer them to the support program at Estrogel's site, which says they will give $35, which "should result in a copay of about $25 on most plans". From $99 for 30 days, no.
Any other suggestions?

I have NO idea what is going on with Levsin. I can't find it covered or any of the other brand names or using the generic name.

The Estrogel is expensive and they want her on the cheaper choices (Premarin).

Here's my advice. Obviously, you can't control what the US Congress deems as necessary. (Tell her that!) She needs to contact the prescribing physician(s). If the doc is prescribing these drugs, there is most likely other patients in their office that have gone through this. See if they have any suggestions. She is either going to have to get new prescriptions or pay cash.

I haven't been following this thread very closely but I looked up Estrogel on a service I have on my website and it was there. She could get it for $30 a month plus 3 other meds that are on the list.

I want to note that awhile back there was a debate with regard to this service (Lone Star Script Care) so I'm not trying to start all that up again nor is this an offer for signups or sales. I'm just trying to help KG's client out.

The link that page on my site is freemeds.askjeff.us. Hope it helps.

Jerard, thanks for the info. My prospect is not going to be able to sign up on a website, this couple don't do internet. I am going to give them the phone #, if there is one, for the discount program from Estrogel's mfg.

Thanks! We had the government discussion this morning. Will mention the other options.

In general, if a drug isn't on Medicare.gov, then, it's not going to be covered on drug plans? I believe earlier this year I noticed there was a version of a drug also available in powder form that was on Humana's site, but wasn't on Medicare.gov.

Whoa...all the numbers on both sites go to me, and I just direct people to the website. I don't carry apps or anything, anymore. Have someone take a laptop to them and help them sign up that way.

Where is generic xanax available for 4.00 cash money price with no insurance? Thats a good price considering UHC 's PDP contracted cost is 9.44 at publix

I haven't really noticed before today but even the PDP carriers contracted cost for these drugs has come down substantially from a couple of years ago when it was about 20.00-25.00

It was available as late as last year at CVS and Valium was something like $2.85. Contracted prices came into play here. Does depend on the strength though.

Thank you for the great information that solved an issue with UHC not covering eszopiclone (Lunesta). Using GoodRx client will be able to pay a little less than what she's currently paying with FL Blue.
