Customer called today and told me she received a letter from Freedom and as of September 1, 2013 they are no longer in business. Anyone hear of this? customer is mailing me the letter.

Freedom Healthcare I assume. Has sister co. Optimum Healthcare. Big on Snippers. Patel started them after he sold Wellcare for about a bazillion dollars, so this would be weird. Last I heard he was trying to buy Universal before it went belly up.

Haven't heard anything. Think they are strong cos., so I would be very surprised.

Not sure about bankrupt but I did have a client call me from Brevard County that a huge group of doctors have dropped freedom and left her high and dry in July.

Someone stated a few months ago that eventually we will be left with 3 big players. UHC, Humana, and Coventry/Aetna. All the little guys are going by the wayside.

That is a real travesty when your favorite minipad mfgr is insolvent.
