Freedom !!!!

Re: Freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not counting on any walk in traffic at all. I ve done mainly cold calling from lists and referrals for years. That's what I plan to do now. Not much changes as far as marketing. Really the only change is carrier, and where to work from.

Congrats, where did you move to and what firm are you with now ? Where about are you in FL ? I am in Tampa!

I live in Sarasota. Not with any "firm". I went with Integrated Benefits and FIG as FMO/IMO's, if that's what you mean.

Best move you'll ever make - congrats. I think the inside/outside the home office question depends on two things, at least for me. 1. Your personal work style and 2. What else is going on at your house (i.e. spouse home, kids, plenty of workspace etc). I always suggest trying it from home first, rather than getting involved in any sort of lease situation.

Thank you, I've decided to give working from the house at try at least through June. If I'm not happy with my own disipline, then I'll get an outside office. I'm really now just in my second week. Last week I produced 3 contracts for about $2100 commish. I'm ok with that, but, know I can do better. So far this week isn't starting great. Appointment count is low, but, it's just Tuesday morning, just gotta buckle down.

Some can work from home, some can't. I knew a guy that started a business in his basement office. Every day he would get up, shave, put on a suit and walk downstairs to his office.

That was the only way to get in the mindset of working.

Not me.

I have worked from home for 17 years and would never go back to an office. If someone wants to meet me, happens maybe 3 or 4 times a year, we usually meet at a Starbucks.

Instead of paying rent to some building owner, I "rent" space from my wife.

She appreciates the extra money, it saves taxes and I get to keep it in the family.

Okay, I read this too fast...I thought for a second you were renting out your wife....And I wanted to know how you got started to see if it work for me :)

Slow down, Peter.

No, I am not renting out my wife but I have considered selling my kids from time to time.

If I lived in Mississippi I could legally rent out my sister, but sending her across state lines for carnal purposes is still a crime.
