depends on the contract. but you most def want to be able to pickup everything else on the table. health, life, FE, LTC med supps etc...if your company is not ok with that, look for another company just my opinion there are others out there that will allow it good luck

You may not write P&C from other companies. If there is no conflict of interest, why not write life and health etc from other companies? I would select my captive agency carefully not limiting my opportunities.

It does depend on the contract. Many of the direct P and C writers have an in house brokerage that allows their agents to place business through the in house brokerage. The company splits the commisssions with the agent and it works OK.
