Genworth on Review

despite all evidence to the contrary,

I've been asking arthur and vol to list me 3 facts that prove that gnw is a sinking ship.

Since they've refused to do it, maybe you can list for me 3 facts (or "evidence" as you call it) that gnw is a sinking ship.

I look forward to your answer.

There is a difference between spinning our wheels here talking about Genworth and with a customer. If the customer believes Genworth is sinking I may point out some positives of Genworth but then I am showing a carrier they may be more comfortable with.

for the good of all reading this forum, please list 3 reasons why you believe they are a troubled ship.

Scott,
How many times must you ask the same question?
And, how many times must it be answered?
Your answer was given very clearly last week.
Here, I'll post it one more time.

Try reading GNW's 2014 year end & 2 previous quarterly reports.

I've read the reports, Arthur.
That's the problem.
You read them and you see a sinking ship.
I read them and I don't.

That's why I asked you a very simple question:

list 3 facts from the report that would lead you to believe that a consumer should NOT buy a LTCi policy from GNW.

If the answer is so obvious, why doesn't you or Vol or anyone else do it?

Scott,
For the 3rd and last time, I never said GNW was a sinking ship!

If you read the reports and really understand them, anyone with common sense would say "there's a concern".

Wow,
It's like talking to a wall................

I really don't care what your asking anyone. You just keep avoiding the issue. If you were an agent attempting to sell me on Genworth rather than having me go with another carrier I'd just move on.

Why would you bother spending any time explaining away Genworth's negative press and downgrade when you have other options....unless, of course, you don't?

gnw has been less than 5% of my business for the last 8 months and less than 20% of my business over the last 15 years.

the problem is that most agents don't understand the "bad press".
it's a shame that most insurance agents, including most of the agents on this forum, don't understand the regulations that protect consumers.

it's a shame that most agent think that a drop in a stock price is bad for policyholders and consumers.

why would increasing LTCi claims reserves by one billion dollars (roughly a 5% increase in reserves) be a bad thing for a policyholder?

That's why I ask anyone on this board to list for me 3 things from Genworth's last quarterly report that would lead the agent to conclude that a consumer should NOT buy an LTCi policy from Genworth or that a policyholder should cancel their LTCi policy with Genworth?

No one has taken me up on that challenge because no one can.

There's nothing in the quarterly report that a policyholder or consumer should be concerned about. (and no one will correct this statement because no one can.)

Scott presents every option for his clients. Scott does not attempt to push Genworth or any other company.

Luckily, we all have Scott to enlighten us.

I feel so much better now.
