For those that haven't heard.. within the next 48 hours, Gerber Life will be launching its availability in these states:
AL, OH, VA, WV,TX, WA, OR, AZ, OK, NE, LA

Materials should be available on their site within 48 hours.
The launch will be for the Modernized plans (June 1st+).

This is great news, as it's good to have another alternative in every market. Rates will be VERY competitive, as well as great comp.

Even though it has not yet been approved in the State of Florida, the commission structure for Florida (flat fee each year vs. commissions) is now incorporated into the Gerber commission schedules that are available. We're hoping for Gerber's approval in Florida any time.

I have found that, when selling Gerber by phone, using a screen share with the clients that have the internet REALLY helps ease them into providing their information necessary for the application. You can then type right on to the PDF application, with them watching "over your shoulder" and it works very well.

If you don't have software that can type onto any PDF file, try this:

Great news about Alabama.

I don't see where Gerber has even applied for the modernized plans in Florida. I just checked again. Their approved in Florida on the standardized.

Their approved in Florida on the standardized.

I know - great timing on approval of the standard plans, eh?

Our hope, of course, is that they have it figured out as to how to streamline the process for the modernized plan filing this time.

Problem is...you have to file a new plan series too, because of the hospice benefit. FL DOI takes about 30 days after filing before they review it. Their working that far behind. Probably middle June before it's approved on modernized plans in Florida.

If I'm way off, crow me.

I certainly don't propose to make predictions about Florida's quirky DOI. They have dragged their heels on every filing proposed to them thus far. The other carriers waiting to launch in Florida will be great for all of us, too, but it's a crap shoot as to when we'll have them.

So is the standardized plan available to sell now in florida? What about for someone who turns 65 in june?

No. They're not going to roll out apps and rates and train everyone for FL for May-only effectives.

Unless it's approved before then (modernized), there will not be a FL solution from Gerber T-65's for June 1. There'll be BIG fanfare when FL's released and for when it can be effective. You'll be the first to know!

The marketer I go through said their ironing out commission details on the standardized supplements.

From looking at their approved filing in Florida....looks like their paying a commission of $150 per applicant. Not sure if that's a 9 month advance?

Looks like their age-bracketing the rates...64-69....one rate...then...70-74...75-79...80-84...85+.

Plans...A,B, C, D, F and G.

I'm not doubting you...but, "train agents"? I agree about the shortness of time on the standardized plans..til June 1st.
