Getting Goofy Now

Do you think the Pubs will come out better for not having a counter proposal or, as i think, better off to keep out of it.

The dems are going to regroup regardless of how this bill comes out and start introducing bills piecemeal to lock in those areas where they can get support. Republicans who truly have some areas where they want to see reform but just dont like the dem plan might make out a little better because they can pick and choose and influence what makes sense to them rather than have a monstrosity forced down their throat.

But all those republicans out there who just want to say "no" and make it all go away will make out worse. For lack of a plan of their own, they will end out with a hodge-podge of what everyone else can cobble together. In the short run it will be better though. I certainly would not want to be up for re-election in the fall if I had supported some of this health care and stimulus and carbon crap. Medium to long term though the repubs better get going. Just being dull and not having solutions gets voters mad too. Sarah Palin may put a little sizzle on their steak for a while but there is not much of anything strategic going on.

We need health care reform in this country. If the republicans dont participate in implementing at least a moderate plan of some sort it is going to rear up again in an even uglier form - ie. single payer, cost-be-damned. I expect the frigging republicans to have a brain and be helpful too. I enjoy watching the dems take a beating but I still expect the conservatives to do something smart and aggressive too or I am plenty willing to replace them. Not looking for anyone to sit around the campfire just watching the democrats fail. We are trying to build a better country here. Doesnt mean we can't take a certain glee in seeing someone put a pie in Pelosi's or Reid's face. Gotta be some bright spots along the way.
