Getting started

Hi, I'm new here and to the insurance industry. Here's where I'm at. I have a full time in the steel industry making about 100k/yr gross. My schedule is 4 days on 4 days off. I'm wanting to build an insurance business on the side. I have experience in sales and business development having owned my own business in the past. I'd like to start on my days off and in ca. 5 years be full time and walk away from the steel industry. I posted in the Med Supp section as well and was encouraged to talk to some FE pros due to the learning curve of Med supp.
I know very little about FE. Where do I learn? How do you do it? (phone, internet, face to face, leads, etc.) Is there captive in FE or is it noncaptive? Im in the state of Missouri. Are there marketing organizations to work with? What is there to cross sell with FE (Med. Adv. maybe?) I appreciate the time and attention to this post.

The number 1 FE IMO in the world.

If they're the number one IMO in the world how come no one's ever hear of them?

Hmmm?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Just kidding of course. I'd also recommend FEX , even if Scott refused to work with me when I asked.
