GM Retirees Losing Benefits???

I'm not sure what all of you are talking about.

My uncle worked for GM, white collar, and he "lost" his benefits quite a while ago. Not just dental and vision, everything.

I believe, if I remember correctly, GM offered him and his wife $350 per month to make up for it. As he explained it to me he had to take something else. He now lives in the country and a Med Supp was his only option. The person at GM was suggesting they take a Med Supp with MOO.

He called me for advice and I told him to go with their recommendations. I'm not comfortable selling insurance to relatives except my mother.

This was several months ago though. I'm surprised to hear that there are still those out there looking. I would have thought the "deadline" to do something would have passed.

Maybe this is a different group of employees.

I never could trust my mother...

GM retiree's can use extend health or they can use a local insurance agent. It's up to the retiree. Extend health offers the same products such as AARP, Mutual of Omaha/United of Omaha, etc.

You can look at their site at www.extendhealth.com

I thought it was the same ownership. One of them, can't recall which, handles all the billing for H1.
