Graded/GI options

Im primarily Medicare, but plan to do more FE this year until AEP.

Some of what I am asking has some existing threads here but it seems to be pretty old so let me ask anew:

I have the "go to" main FE carrier. But they are not very good with graded and do not have GI

I also have Gerber but its 50%. I have read it can be negotiated higher. Ive stayed with it because the rates are great and no one argues with me about them

Is there a carrier for Graded/GI? That pays an acceptable rate? FE is my secondary effort and the Graded/GI would be my secondary carrier--so I dont really have any volume to offer.

Without offering any real volume whats the best I can do on Gerber?

THANKS from a now well rested Medicare guy

There are some good IMO's on here that might be able to help you. However, since you admittedly write very little production, I would encourage you to go "as-earned" with any GI company you decide to pick up.

Agreed. Im just sick of getting 50%!

AIG is a Guarantee Issue and it does not pay renewals. Foresters and RNA have true graded. United Home Life has an Express Issue plan that is 12%/24% ROP but pays full comp. On some ages, this is cheaper than even AIG. There are tons of options just depending on the health conditions. You will just need to get with someone that can help you get the line up you need and have the tools needed to know when to write each.

I agree Ben! I just wrote a lady who has congestive heart failure with UHL graded and got full comp! Even at 12% and 24% Return of premium it was a great deal for the client. They also take folks with alzheimers and dementia in the same product. I would definitely recommend picking these guys up! You can do better for your client with it most importantly, but also you can get full commission. Best of luck!!!

More agents should think this way. Your interest, the clients interest, and the carriers interest, should all fall in line. Taking a huge cut in commissions to save the client a couple of bucks is not in the agents best interest.
