Graduating in May. Considering Offers. Help!

I'm graduating in May with a degree in marketing and a minor in Finance. I have been going through the interview process with Mutual of Omaha, Northwestern Mutual, and Woodmen of the World. Northwestern Mutual is offering a 4-month internship and would pay for testing and study materials. All of these would be based in Jackson, Ms.

Is immediately after graduation the best time to get a Insurance career started? My financial requirements will be low initially so that helps.

Does anyone have any advice or information concerning these companies or starting out in insurance sales after graduation?

Of the 3 you mention, Northwestern is the best hands down. Arguably the best in the business. If you want a career in life insurance, that's what I'd do.

I definitely want a career in Insurance, and I feel like life insurance would be a great way to start.

NML is definitely the best of the companies you've spoken to so far. There are others I'd look at. Massmutual and Guardian would be definites to check out.

New York Life...maybe

Thanks, I will be looking into those companies and seeing what they have to offer.

As far as when to get into the business, is starting right after college a good thing?

Sure what do you have to lose. You may not have the contacts or life experience that you would later but you do not have the financial obligations either.
