When I was fairly new to the business, a supposedly agent owned company popped up called LifeUSA. We were told they were "agent designed" products. At first, besides commissions, agents who wrote a policy got shares of company stock. However the president of the company retained the majority of shares, and after just a very few years, sold the company to Allianz. So much for agent based.Crazy what some companies think is a good move... for the day we create an agent based company... now that would really sing!
