I've never know Norfolk to be that bad....but Portsmouth....oh yeah!

Portsmouth has definitely been bad, but the projects in Norfolk were always a problem in those days, too. (Really, the projects anywhere have issues from time to time!) I managed a staff on the Tidewater Peninsula for awhile. I actually told my agents to stay away from the apartments near the shipyards in Newport News. They were that bad!

They sort of revamped downtown Norfolk starting a few years back. Fixed up places that cater more to the folks working downtown, etc. Either way, I heard it was real bad back in the day before I was around there.

Oh, definitely changed. Two of my sons live in an area that I used to work from time to time. It wasn't as bad as the projects, but it was still kind of sketchy. It's changed a lot!
