Happy Treason Day!

My 3 kids 18-23 are almost too young to remember a November Presidential election with quality likeable human candidates on the ticket.

Most Presidents are relatively well liked by approval rating as Candidates.

I liked John McCain during his run, although Sarah Palin was a dumpster fire.

Trump/Clinton was hands down the absolute worst of the worst.

Biden isn't unlikable, he's just really past his prime. He should have run 5 years ago (though I understand why he didn't)

Man, during the Trump/Clinton elections I kept asking, "Really, this is the best we have? Really? The most powerful country in the world. Really!?!?!?" That was like choosing between a punch in the face or a kick in the groin.

Last time was like choosing between a kick in the groin, or a driver that was half asleep at the wheel.

Biden isn't unlikable

aside from politics, watching videos of him over the years, I would disagree about him being unlikeable. he is arrogant, short tempered & has made hundreds of blatantly sexist/racist comments over the years. today he is more likeable as he reminds us of our declining grandparent

Right, let's set aside the fact that he's a racist and a sexist, in that he chose his vp on gender and race, and instead focus on the fact that he will cure cancer. When he cures cancer, will you like him then?

My thoughts exactly.
Then Biden or his handlers pick Kamela?

So, He vs We...

You're attributing the statement incorrectly, that makes it sound ridiculous as Joe Biden isn't in the lab figuring out cancer.

We can cure forms of cancer for some people. There are forms that put people in remission indefinitely.

The scientific community makes strides everyday to improve treatments and early detection.

The way you're framing it is a bad faith argument.

As for picking a woman and a person of color....

False Ad About Biden's VP Pick - FactCheck.org

Pledging to pick a woman is not sexist. There is a difference between picking someone to be in a position where their demographic is under represented (which in this case, a women of color are definitely under represented in our society) and being prejudicial to Men (or a white male.)

If Kamala Harris has a background that would make her a decent VP (not that she is or isn't) then it isn't inherited sexist or racist.

Sexism in Politics

White men (and I'm white and male, obvs) can be some of the most obtuse people in the world in regards their own privilege.

When the vast majority of our political makeup is white and male, and then you get bent out of shape because someone says "I'm picking a woman to have a seat at the table, where she usually wouldn't."

It makes you look really crappy.

I would disagree. Likeability doesn't mean you don't say racist or sexist things or aren't short tempered.

It means that people feel that you are relatable and genuine.

Ted Bundy was a horrible murderer, however, people found him affable and likeable.

If you actually look at Joe Biden's personality over the years (which be can find articles all over the place since before he was VP) he has been likeable.

Pledging to pick a woman is not sexist

Pledging to pick someone based on their genitalia is clearly sexism. Even if you think it's a good thing.

I have a pretty good understanding of well meaning people treating others differently based on their race or gender. It never ends well. I can cite several examples if you like.

There was recently an animal loving vegetarian that lead a group of socialists that wanted to take power away from those he thought got it unfairly, and redistribute it to the people the thought were wronged in Germany.
