Has Anyone Read "Insurance Commander" ?

Re: Has Anyone Read This Book?

I have it.
Bought it when I stepped into this biz a year ago.
It is for beginners and very dated....as in " typing up a great letter to mail to the underwriter to inspire them to mail you a great quote" and " always have change in your car to use a pay phone while on the road".
I guess the industry( and the world) has changed since 1994
I will give you a very good deal on it

How much do you want for it?

Re: Has Anyone Read This Book?

I bought it when I first started and found it helpful but it is way overpriced. On the other hand, I know it helped me put some business on the books so it paid for itself. Yes it is dated but it is helpful in spite of the price. Buy "The Accidental Salesperson" by Chris Lytle. It's not an insurance sales book but the principles outlined in this book fit commercial P & C side very well. Perhaps it is the best book on selling I have ever read.
Also, the folks at the CIC designation have a program called, "Dynamics of Selling" & I highly recommend it. It's a seminar but they give you a nice work book.

Thanks for the response. I have another CIC class the first week of June on commercial property.
