Health Choice One Career

I am considering getting into the insurance industry. I graduated with a degree in insurance 8 years ago but i haven't taken my licensing exams yet. Ive read a lot of good posts about HCO and like the idea of being independent. Im hard working, self motivated and ive been in sales for the last 7 years. The million dollar question i have is what can someone like myself, working 50+ hours per week, realistically expect to make my first year? Also does HCO provide good training to a greenhorn like myself and do they have good products to sell? thanks for all your help.

Re: Health Choice One

Welcome to the forum and to the business. HCO has been covered numerous times here. Please do a search for either Health Choice One or HCO and I think that you will find all of the answers that you are looking for.

Re: Health Choice One

I did a search but didn't see anything regarding realistic first year earnings with HCO. Like I said i like the idea of being indy but not sure thats the smart thing to do right out of the gate with no experience. Im middle age and unfortunatley have responsibilites/bills that i must pay. I do have enough saved up to pay bills for 6 months, but also need to make sure i can cover my bills after the 6 months. Ive also applied to Mutual of Omaha and Liberty Mutual since they offer a base plus commision structure and seem to be descent companies based on searches.

There are so many variables, it's impossible to give you a number that is anywhere near accurate.

Some will try to blow smoke up your skirt and tell you a six-figure income is possible. After eighteen years in this business, I'd say if you made 30k your first year - you've done ok.

Re: Health Choice One

Does the slow economy affect the insurance industry like it does everything else? Im sure it does but i guess what im asking is now a bad time to try to make it with most people barely scraping by let alone able to afford life insurance premiums.

Re: Health Choice One

First year earnings depends on you. You can make $0 or you can make over $100k. Your skill level and dedication will control which end of the spectrum you're on

Re: Health Choice One

I live in Missouri so based on my background what company/products would you recommend to get started in the industry. Like i said i like the idea of hco, but feel like its a big risk with no experience. Then again, ive read other companies provide no training/support so you might as well go indy with a good company. Like i said ive also considered MoO and Liberty Mutual.

I suggest you invest 19.95 a month join the IHIAA (IHIAA dot com)

They have a Sales Trainer named Rob Liano, who also posts on this forum..he does free consults, talk to him.

It's like anything else. If you put in 50 solid hours every week, you will probably make something. If you put in 20 hours every week, you probably won't make $100,000.

But anything is possible. You probably won't make $100,000 your first year, but it is absolutely possible. Sell 3 individual health policies a week and you'll come close to $100k.

Stop thinking so much about creating a permanent money train and start selling. In fact stop thinking altogether and start interacting with people. Even if you sell one individual health policy a week, you'll probably make around $36k and you'll have at least $9k coming in the following year at renewal (but in reality it will be more, because some people will want to change companies because of premium increase and you will get new business commission.)

*shrug* just get to work.
