I got licensed in May 1976.
This was the first health plan I sold.
Under age 30 single male was $73.35/qtr.

Thanks for posting this brochure, DS4. At first glance, I was thinking that those premiums were monthly. But I see that they're quarterly premiums.

If you plug some of those premiums into DollarTimes.com | Inflation Calculator , it's obvious that medical inflation has far outpaced the average national inflation rate.

Add today's premiums to the Out-of-Pocket costs, and it's easy to understand why a lot more people are declaring medical-related bankruptcy.
 
keep in mind that is not even a major medical for that era, it is a scheduled benefit plan...
 
So for a family under 30 years old $62.05 per month when adjusted for inflation to 2016 = $258 per month.

Did anybody notice the union bug (union printers) on the bottom right of the brochure?? It's been a long time since I've seen one of those.

I can remember the days of the 7 digit phone number too.:D
