"Some" is the optimal word here. Dependent upon need and age, the risk might be to great for some folks. That is red money, money you can afford to loose. Anyone remember trying to call their stock guy in '07 and '08. How will inflation and a recession treat those funds in the short run, and will a clients age and health help them weather a storm until greener pastures appear? Rolling the dice at Vegas.

It's always easy to tell others what they should do with their money... our own is a different story.
 
You can change names on a 1035, the application could be under just your name, or your wifes name

Just because a new carrier is overly aggressive or doesn't confirm everything matches on current policy with new carrier policy doesn't mean it won't be disallowed if an IRS audit were to occur. Granted, releasing carrier is issuing a 1099 with 1035 code if they believe it is a valid like for like exchange.......but that doesn't mean it met the like for like IRS regs
