So, I get an email from a prospect/referral asking me to send them a "quote" for a lower price compared to their current Aetna/Costco Non GF plan.

Did you register at HC.gov? No
Did you know the market shut down yesterday? NO

Then we'll talk in November.

Repeat 100 times in the coming months. 2 out of 10 leads will qualify for an SEP.

When I got to work this morning, I had a VM from a prospect I talked to several months ago that at 6:18PM on 3.31.14 was now ready to proceed.
:D

Woman is referred to me today frustrated because she couldn't get to talk to anyone yesterday and was tired of being on hold so called me today. Turns out she didn't even call the right number...on SSI disability...unemployed 21 year old son lives with her, unemployed daughter and baby lives with her, boyfriend who works but not married lives there...I found the number to the nearest navigator and wished her luck.

Its obscure to me on mothership healthcare.gov.....Did someone without a valid SEP have to had
1. SET UP a valid email and account with the marketplace to enroll during the next two weeks?

This is still obscure to me...looks like you can just go on there and create an account just like the last 6 months...Serious question, I'm confused.

Serious answer, Healthcare.gov considers "A planned Marketplace system outage, such as Social Security Administration system outage" to be an "exceptional circumstance"
https://www.healthcare.gov/sep-list/

Marketplace obviously had many outages. Everyone now has an SEP!

Attention Marketplace Shoppers: Millions of people may be eligible for extensions granted by the administration for multiple reasons -- website malfunctions, personal emergencies, errors made by application counselors and more.

To request an extension, call the federal call center at 800-318-2596 or the state marketplace and explain your situation.

as I posted in the extension thread earlier today, healthcare.gov is open for business as usual. open enrollment did not end and will not end until Kathleen Sebelius says it ends.

where are all these damn flies coming from? First there was one and now there are two

i enrolled one today...no subsidy amount on letter but subsidy applied to plan when enrolled...whats up with this why does it keep happening with no number on letter but applied when buying plan?
