Hey, Do Any of You Know if an FE Agent Can Make It in Telesales?

I just had to do it, Mods, yes, I apologize, delete this thread at will :laugh:

I truly believe that if I were to dedicate myself to make it, selling on the phone is totally doable.

In other words, if I had to do it, I would!

I recently made a half ass'd attempt at it and didn't sell jack! What I learned was that it takes commitment and time, and although I did get help from gymguy, I still think that it won't work without proper training and some serious hand holding. lol

Just like selling Face to Face!

Exactly right. Selling on the phone you have to be on top of your game, for the duration of the game (warm up, presentation, close, warm down). Ms. Jones can only hear your voice, that's the only connection you and she have. If you stumble a little it's more difficult to recover. You also need a longer warm up and you have to sound "just right".

In the face 2 face if you stumble a little it's easier to recover. Not only are you and Ms. connected by your voice, you are also connected by eyesight (smiling, appearance, etc.), even smell (good I hope). It's just easier to bond quicker face 2 face than on the phone.

That's why closing % on phone may be slightly lower than face 2 face. However phone sales allows more presentation to be made with the same # of leads IN LESS TIME (usually). Profit Per Hour is the name of the game when you are in business like we are.

Agents have to decide which method makes them the most profit per hour. It all depends on closing % you have with each method, if all your leads are in the same zip code or scattered 5-15 miles apart, your in person "presence" vs phone "presence", etc.

Hope this helps.

JG - you runnin' a telesales operation these days too?? ;)

Ha
