I was wondering what everyone else is doing to run their operations?

1 man shop, i am having trouble following up commission and sending out premium.

I can go out and get business and quote and bind, but the accounting backend

here are my troubles,

i dont follow my commission, its either direct deposit or send me a check. i usually do 6 months tracking, and ALWAY find im missing commission.

my premium account always have extra money, because i forget to send in the check,

i have a AMS, but it only helps me in tracking policy, renews and what not.

my emails are giant clutter and i dont know whether to archive them delete them , print them to pdf to save in AMS.

everything is getting a huge mess for me. i dont make enough to higher an assistant yet, but want to simplify my work flow.

any help or insight is appreciated!

i am using QQ, but it seems to be lacking

You can make a spreadsheet on new business and have it track that way with commission so when you get paid you place that payment on your spreadsheet. I use QQ as well but do not do the commission reconcile its a lot of work.

On the Emails you can save them on QQ in the client file so you have it for back up. Its easy to do but you must be running microsoft outlook 2010 at least.

how to save on qq? i cant figure it out. i am using microsoft outlook 2010

i am making a spreadsheet now, but it seems redundant when my QQ should do it for me lol. but yes the commission reconcile is ALOT of work for me. i hate it

Hire someone part time, they could work from home. Maybe a wife, girlfriend, or good old mom. You can't afford not to hire someone.Forgetting to send in a insurance premium, is a big no no.

I have all the premium direct bill. I do not get payment in the office. I take credit card payment for new business and ACH most of the time. It saves the client on payment fee as well. :swoon:

they like to come in with the paystub and check payable to carrier and have me mail it...

sometimes they just like stopping by the office and giving me a check to my agency
