How Can I Be in the 10%?

How did they do it before we had leads?

This is a hard job and the things you have to do, most people dont like doing.

I made www.rosenthalfiles.com to help you. It is full of tools that can help you.

I've spent the last 18 1/2 years doing what others won't or don't like to do. I'm still selling insurance and making money. There must be something to what I'm doing and the way I do it.

Jacqueline and I went to a bar/restaurant tonight, it was trivia night. There was a guy there selling calendars to raise money for some group that is concerned about clean water and beaches. They were $10 each, nice calendar great pics.

He sold one. I bet him $10 I could sell six, I sold 9. I just went table to table and asked people if they had been given an opportunity to participate yet. They all asked, "participate in what?". Then I told them.

He was passionate about his cause but not enough so to do what he needed to do to raise money for it. He simply announced his cause and that he had the calendars available and just sat there. He waited for people to come to him. He did what I've seen so many agents do.

Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Since 9 out of 10 people fail in this business. I take it that most people in this forum are in the 10%. What is the best advice you can give me to be in the 10% that makes it.
No, I'm in the fail category. I have worked at every major mutual company and large captive around except NW mutual and NYL. I just post here for fun and I love the business, but I've had trouble making it work for me. The best year I had was in the 80's in NY state. In TX the best year I had was I think 1994, on the debit. It was either 1992 or 94, can't recall. I made poverty wages and was in the lead for my entire staff in sales written up. So I can tell you what not to do!!

Here is what you do not want to do: do not quit!! Never, ever ,ever quit!! I mean, if it's working. Do what works. I quit in the 90's and I was in the lead. Thought I would go indy. I quit on myself as an indy, because I had trained myself to quit before- at these big companies.
