How Did Ya'll Handle Your First "disappointed" Customer?

Ajax, several things I would like to clarify... this lady isn't new to Medicare. She is 72, they are lower income... not low enough to be eligible for Medicaid, but low enough to get PACE. She mentioned to me that they had a lot of bills and wouldn't accept anything unless it was one of those "NO PREMIUM" plans. I told her the pros and cons of this plan, she was full aware that she would still be able to keep PACE, and have no premium, she was happy as a Lark when I left the meeting that day. I felt like I did my part in explaining the coverage.. we were good! (I thought) until her husband got his cards and she didn't.

I'm just going to have to take ya'lls advice... get some thicker skin, live and learn, walk away from the "trouble makers"...I think as I get more experienced, I'll see that kind a mile away and learn to STEER CLEAR!!

Thanks a lot Ajax, you were helpful!

How can you walk away when her husband is still your client?:skeptical:

ins.dave... guess you've given me several scenarios to look forward to!! GEEE THANKS! :skeptical:

Well, at least you won't be wondering what you did wrong if and when you come across the aforementioned?

While I agree, this is NOT a dating website.

So you're saying that it would be inappropriate for me to compliment you on your rapist wit?

Russ, I'm not walking away from her... she refuses to speak with me anymore. Her husband is still my client, and I'll do all I can (with her permission) to help him!

Oh boy... this is getting outta control! Just asked a question... wondering how ya'll handled your first unhappy client, what did ya'll do to make it alllll better if you were able to. In my case, she doesn't want to. She would only talk to the owner of the agency, I personally think that she did simply because HE'S THE BOSS!.... he's older, he's more "learned" in this area (in her mind)... he's the owner. I'm sure ya'll can understand that.

I didn't ask for compliments! :embarrassed:

In response to Russ: "How can you walk away when the husband is still your client?"

From the very beginning, if a client seems confused or hesitant about the plan, even if the husband says yes, but, the wife seems confused, I would ask: Do you understand the plan? Do you have any other questions? Are you ready to enroll?

If the prospect is irritable and difficult, I would start packing up. Leave a business card and the sales materials. Politely start walking away. If they are truly interested they will want you to stay. However, some people will never understand. Some people have no consideration for you or your expertise as an Agent. If this so-called client had consideration, she would have called Jessica when she received the sales materials from AARP/UHC or any other company, but, instead this so-called-client had no consideration or respect for Jessica's work, so she enrolled in another plan. Either the so-called-client was confused to begin with, or she was never sold on the policy/indecisive.

There are red flags when a prospect is anxious, confused, or not understanding the presentation. They may hesitate to respond when you ask them questions (to check their understanding); they may not make eye contact and stare at the materials while you give the presentation; they may fidget; they may cross their arms; they may sigh, and so on. There are a number of non-verbal clues that raise a red flag. I walk away. I walk away after I have repeated myself multiple times, and simplified my explanations. What else can you do? Pressure sale, make an argument, no way. Even if one of the spouses says yes and the other is undecided, I take a step back from the conversation. I never argue or try to convince people of anything. If I stay and engage the spouse who is interested in the plan, hopefully the other spouse will make an argument for me and win the other spouse over.

I wasn't there at Jessica's presentation, so I don't know if there were any red flags. If I was, maybe I would have read them, maybe not. Non-verbal cues are subtle. Not everyone is easy to read.

I have clients whose spouse/beloved is not enrolled, one of them understands and appreciates the coverage, the other doesn't. I am not into pressuring the other into a sale. Some seniors do not like to change, others like to make independent decisions. Some are set in there ways.

If I gave full disclosure, explained the benefits and limitations of a plan, checked for understanding of the plan, made sure that they can call me if they have any questions or need any help, listened and did my best to resolve any issue that arose, and they still act disrespectfully, why would anyone do business with a person like that.

Stop being a punk, Mark. This is a professional site, Jessica is here in a professional manner, and she's given you the hint that what you're doing is making her uncomfortable. Back the hell off. The teen stalking site is.... well... it seems you know where it is.

BTW, this is G.Gordon using his wife's laptop.

SHe knows I didn't mean anything by it..It is just nice after dealing with all these old guys all day long to see a younger female on here.

motorcycle whatever aks ..G.Gordon go take your meds now and get off your wifes laptop. LOL

professional site?? What don't we talk about on this forum?? LOL I'm sorry if you are bothered if you see a guy telling a girl she is cute. Trust me, she knows I'm not trying to pick her up.

So that's why Jessica PM'd me to thank for for standing up to you. You've been PM'ing her telling her she's hot, etc. That's the actions of a teenager. Grow up. She's married with children... she doesn't need one on the internet stalking her. Yep I have a wife. A very hot wife that rocks my world. Maybe if you acted like a man instead of a punk you could get one of your own.

I'll publicly suggest to her that she needs to contact the mods about "stalking" PM's and replies to her threads.

Yes, Senior Insurance is professional in nature. Go to Non-insurance Related forum down by Fight Club to act like a punk.
