How Do You Handle a "Copy Cat"?

Al, that was a good post about copyrights. Does IANAL stand for "I'm Anal?" Just pulling your chain. I know it is anacronym fer "I am not a lawyer.";)

BTW, I agree with you, Al, that it is an example of plagarism. What Chumps needs to do is sic an attack dog, such as Yoda, on the perpetrator!:policeman:

For a moment I thought I was busted . . .

I don't know the folks. Can't say if it will hurt or not. I don't know if Google is smart enough to pick up on the same verbiage but only changing a noun or two.

Do you think I need to change my site where it says I am the founder of an association with 47,001 members?

LMAO, for a moment I thought you were busted!!!!

I might add...the owner of that site (and I think I believe him) meant no harm. I wish him the best.

But I definitely will start using some of the duplicate content software to check for that kind of stuff.

I recommend that you definitely will start using some of the duplicate content software to check for that kind of plagerism.

Anything that is original you write is copyright. You don't need to place a symbol on the site.
That si true for Tradmarks too - if you were the first to use a name in you industry you ahve the rights to it
Send them a cease and desist order if you have not already. If they don't comply have an attorney do it.
