How Do You Judge Your Week?

I'll chime in and it's not that difficult.

If you don't submit apps, you don't get apps issued.

When you're rolling you should have an understanding of how many apps that you submit will ultimately get issued.

Therefore you can do a reasonable estimate of what will eventually hit your bank account when you submit policies.

:1laugh:

And the exact quote is:

You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.

At least I was in the ballpark . . .

Of all the stuff I have read and classes I have attended, that is one that resonated with me. And over the long haul it has worked well for me.

Lately I am writing business as a result of helping people get HIPAA coverage through the DOI. The HIPAA conversion pays nothing but as a result of being a helpful resource I am picking up ancillary business and referrals.

I am not doing Dave Fluke volume (yet) but I am not complaining either.

Good topic

I look at sales from a monthly standpoint. The first week of the month I might write 6 individual policies and then in the 3rd week of the month I might pick up another 4.
Then at the end of the month how many of those policies got approved and excepted. Then I look at the premium approved for the month.

Met with my new Anthem BC RSM yesterday. 10 years doing it and he told me that that he knows of no one else in CA doing what I do. So I must be crazy! (Crazy like a fox :D)

Fortunately we do get paid on HIPAA out here. So you work for less per case %-wise, but make it up in volume. CA has a lot of insurables coming off of group.

A good one from ole Zig's dad:

"Timid salesmen have skinny kids."
- John "Judge" Ziglar

A bit of trivia... Zig's dad (Judge Ziglar) died in 1931, when Zig was 5 yrs old. Zig had a younger brother also named Judge... and his younger brother "Judge Ziglar" was the author of the book you mentioned, authored in 1978.

Judge Ziglar (brother) sold cookware early on, and later life insurance... It has been written that he would make sales calls driving a hearse with a coffin the back. I must admit, I haven't seen anyone using that approach.

I haven't seen anyone using that approach.

I have a feeling Mark will be giving that a try before too long.

But he may have to get a new web site. Somehow, "Real Fast Service" may not look too good on the side of a hearse.

Some folks may think you are . . . rushing them . .
