How Doctors View PPACA

All of my medical group have been bought out in the last 5 years. They were small practices with maybe 20 employees. You can blame the Doctors for selling out to the so called non profit hospitals.

I think the article is spot on with the shortage of general/family doctors.

The boutique practices is something that will become reality. What I have see so far on these is you $5,000 year and that give you the ability to see the Doc. anytime you want. (even house calls) You still have to pay for the claim either with insurance or cash.Do the math for a GP. 50 private clients x $5,000 =$250,000.

I have talked to a few carriers that are currently developing the ACO models. They are only 15% cheaper than PPO plans from a premium stand point.

No matter what happens, I think we see a shift from "fee for service" to quality of care.
