How Has the Health Care Reform Impacted You?

dont we have two shots at getting HCR repealed?

shot 1 supreme court overturns ruling in mid 2012
shot 2 republican nominee will repeal once in office

Shot 3 - the law is a gargantuan dinosaur and will become extinct through waivers, modifications, cancellations of major portions (like what just happened to the CLASS Act portion), and through never ending delays in implementation.

Al is right. There is no future for individual health insurance sales. I BEG ALL OF YOU (and Al agrees with me)...GET OUT NOW!!!

You will starve if you don't make the transition NOW! Disability and LTC is where it might be for you.

Dammit. Here's that stupid disclaimer that I feel obliged to post:
No,I am not getting out of individual health sales.

We are all looking into the future through a haze, so probably a little bit of all these opinions will happen. Al3's prediction about a modified implementation such as a defacto single payer has merit. As for Alan Katz, he changed from consulting for Sea Change to a more permanent position in that start-up health insurance company (exactly at the time some are predicting health care companies, particularly start-up small companies would be doomed). He's in charge of the broker-centric marketing. If he thinks HCR doomed the broker market then he went from the frying pan into the fire. Maybe he (and all of us) are just crazy and should GET OUT NOW! My friend Chumps from Oxford would laughingly agree, and so does Al3 who said, "No matter what, agents are not going to be a major part of healthcare's future." The point isn't to win the "prediction" argument, the point is to adapt and succeed whether you think you should get out now, or stay and adapt. If an agent doesn't feel he has the capacity (or the capital) to make it uphill and downhill in this changing market, then "GET OUT NOW" is sound advice. May each one find success in their choices.

Let's see... the KFF found a %9 increase in employee premiums in part due to some ACA policies, which didn't really mean anything for me at first - but would you look at that? For my family their policies increased a lot this year - and I've had several clients call looking to get their dependents some individual policies to save.

Ann...so true about "get out now."

And on an unrelated note...my Mother and niece are visiting from Tuscon this weekend. They both noted how green it is in Ohio. They both also enjoyed our "Trader Joe's" in the area.

Green? Ah, that sounds refreshing after an endlessly hot summer. The only green thing that we have in Arizona is money, and there's a lot less of that these days.

Chumps, where is Tuscon, maybe Alaska? I had a friend who lived in Tucson, AZ---must be a different town.;)

To answer Mark's query----It sucks!!! Get out of it now!!!
