as i read the wedge theres a section here about your cpa sending weekly reports that are comprehensive easy-to-read and make economic forecasts about your company's revenues. made me stop and think this is something I did not do very well in my captive agency...just did our own book keeping and had accountant do taxes at the end of the year.

I don't think at the beginning its something I'm going to worry about, but I guess this is why most agencies opt for ams360 so they have that accounting piece as part of the mix?

just wanted to see for those agency principals out there, how involved is your cpa or yourself in projecting and planning revenues, goals and growth and when did it really become important to you to track.

We sit down quarterly. I have a fairly new agency (3 years, 5 months) and we are growing quickly with a few established producers rolling over their books and writing a bit of new business so it is very difficult to forecast with any degree of accuracy. I do think it is important to keep up with it but I am not sure how accurate that data is unless you run a very established and stable agency.
