HSC Blue Cross completes Cigna acquisition

Cigna's Medicare plans currently serve 3.6 million Medicare members, with nearly 600,000 in Medicare Advantage plans, more than 450,000 on Medicare Supplement plans and 2.5 million with Medicare Part D. CareAllies — which serves approximately 450,000 patients — is focused on driving the transition to physician value-based care by partnering with providers to form independent physician associations and accountable care organizations, as well as providing management services to support value-based care arrangements.

All Medicare lines across the country.

It is Nationwide, the screenshot is what agents contracted in Oklahoma received. I received the same email from BCBS of OK & TX. HCSC owns BCBS of TX, IL, OK, NM & MT. HCSC is going to expand from 5 states to 50 states for Medicare products, I expect it to be a mess. I am not sure what to expect in 2026 regarding CIGNA vs BCBS products, HCSC does a good job of keeping brokers in the loop.

HCSC is going to expand from 5 states to 50 states for Medicare products,

Are they expanding as a BX carrier or other name? BCBSA is the national association. At one time the association rules established geographic areas where each entity could operate.

NY has Excellus, Empire and Highmark and my understanding is each plan has a territory limited by county where they can operate. I think CA, TN and VA have a similar set up.
