Humana Won't Cover Maternity

Normal pregnancy with no complications will run around $10K, but that includes discounts for having insurance. I think out of pocket for us was $2000 if we hadn't met our out of pocket maximum. The good news is we got a lot of credit card points!

If all else fails, and this obviously depends on your locality, go to your state's department of health website. A lot of states have assistance programs for pregnant woman who don't qualify for state aid but also don't have coverage.

Here's my county: Anne Arundel County Department of Health - Programs for the Uninsured - and we can see they have a program called "Reach."

So be sure to look for local programs.

Thankfully people take responsibilty for intentional acts like making a baby instead of transferring the cost to an insurance carrier.

Maternity should not be covered by health insurance. Period.

I'm sure that Jiffy Lube would be delighted if auto insurance covered oil changes.

I think if this insurance gig dosent work out ill move to Sweden... My kids are dual citizens there, i will just be an "undounmented worker" free health care and goodies for all
