I don't know if anyone has encountered this or not. I got a call today from a guy I know who just got married. He is on Medicare - his new wife is on a fully subsidized Coventry plan with her grandchild - since she has the grandchild on taxes as a dependent. Grandchild lives with her mother in KS. Newly married grandma, will reside in MO with husband. Child remains in KS.
Grandma will be applying for new coverage due to Married, filing jointly status and because she's living in KS now. What happens with the grandchild? She's still a dependent. Will she be on Grandma's new policy, or will something else happen here? Does anyone know, or has anyone encountered something like this?
