I actually used to work for BL&C. 7 years before during and after their being bought by Conseco.
It was a good place to work, they gave you advanced commissions the first two years, then take it back later. So it's important to build renewals. The leads are crap, basically people sending return cards to get a pamphlet on Medicare Options. We mailed our own. We also sat for hours calling turn 65 list. I made about 35K back in 1991 with them.
I think they are selling Advantra's MA plan now. At lease they are selling their PDP plan.
Here in GA they push Supplement plan G which is about $8-12 less than the avg. plan F.
There are worse places to work, i.e. Parker &Asso, car dealerships, etc.
but I wouldn't encourage him as if he doesn't do well, you'll be the goat.
Maybe some one can list entry level places that they actually would recommend someone just getting started. I've seen a few on this forum in passing.
