Plan N Medicare Supplement is approved in Georgia. Not all companies are offering it in our hot, muggy state. AARP is, Mutual of Omaha is, Humana and Secure Horizons are not. In fact Secure Horizons is not in the Med Supp market at all.

Good luck with M.O.O!!! Thier turn around time is 3-5 weeks(keep this in mind when writing apps). I just got an approval today, for an T65 app.(O.E), that I faxed in on 6-16-2010

I had one approved yesterday(T65) that was sent in on 6-4-2010.

I am sick of telling of clients why it is taking so long. The med. supp. business in Virginia is a tough gig right now;Not selling them, but getting them through underwriting, is the chore. I still have 7 apps in the hopper, one shows it was scanned into their system 26 days ago.

Oh yeah, I called the client that got issued today to let him know, and he said M.O.O. called him and asked him if he had prior creditable health coverage. He is in freakin open enrollment, so they made me look like I didn't know what I was talking about when I told him that he would be automatically issued due to the O.E. period. I guess they must have hired some new guys.

Man, when we get some decent carriers, with decent premiums, blank M.O.O. apps are in the trash can.

Maybe, no, hopefully, they are better in GA.

I've been having 21-28 days on apps. However, I just had one approved in 3 days (approved yesterday). I still have one that is 26 days old (Gerber, but still the same underwriters) and I have a few others that are 3-7 days. No rhyme or reason at this point.

As far as new guys being hired, yes, they just trained 20 new underwriters.

Unfortunately, MOO is the only viable option in Va. There are a few others out there. but the premiums stink.
