I know that we have a DI forum, but it isn't very active, so here goes:
I have a client who I am quoting who is a cariovascular surgeon, and this person may practice outside the US in the future. From what I have been told, IDI policies will pay claims for a disability that occurs outside of the US, but the person can only remain outside of the US for 6 months at a time, and then must spend 6 months in the US.
The rationale being that it would be impossible to keep tabs on whether or not the person was still actually disabled.
I'm sure that Lloyd's/Peterson would have a solution, but does anyone know if a major player such as Guardian, Mass Mutual, Principal, or Standard offers some type of international coverage rider for a 4M occ class?
