Insuring Police Officer

I have a police officer that I am trying to insure, they are a police officer in which all of my companies came back and said no problem. However part of his NORMAL duties is to dive into the river and either look for bodies or recover bodies. One company came back and said absolute not, while others are considering it.

Any advice? Any Help?

I have written several police and corrections. No issues. You will need to do a diving questionnaire. Do a pre qual with a good brokerage. What companies did you try?

I would definitely try getting an underwriter on the phone if you have to, but this should be a fairly simple application. If you are working with a captive company and they choose to not accept those cases, then you may need to look at other carriers.

What wino said.

I have two different agents who specialize in law enforcement in the city and on the island. You should be able to find coverage for this risk but it will probably cost you...

That. Depending on the specialty there could be a flat extra. No big deal, just include it in the quote and explain it up front.

probaly benefits him, he is highly trained and trains often, not a weekender who does it once a year...

Some people have complained that the new insurance policies, written to comply with the 2010 Affordable Care Act, cost more than their old policies. :swoon:

This thread is about life insurance, not health. ACA isn't relevant.

Isn't it odd that a total of 6 people, all with 3 or less posts, migrate to this one thread? Not saying anything good or bad about it...just thought it was odd. :1baffled:
