Interview Mon. W/ NYL!

I know! Now I almost feel like saying,"uh-oh, what did I just sign up for???". I was in the last meeting, I almost had that feeling when he was going over the commission schedule. I could almost feel my eyes want to start glazing over because it was all coming at me so fast and with some acronyms I did not understand yet. I shall see tomorrow afternoon...

If they don't have you doing the project 200, where do your initial leads come from?

Good luck getting contracted at NYL without a project 200.

Is that like "make a list of 200 friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances, enemies etc?" And then you and a "manager" will call on them?

In a good NYL office, you will be calling on them. Your manager doesn't want your Project 200 for himself, but to jump start you. But as I understand they are pretty rigid about the Project 200 as well. It is scored and if it is too low they might not contract you.

The manager wanting your Project 200 for himself has to be one of the biggest myths about the big captives. Maybe that stuff goes on in some companies, but a NYL, Mass, NWM manager is too busy prospecting for recruits to go sell your Project 200.

Well, as it turns out, I just signed yesterday!
I am wondering if the project 200 I did back in the day is why I did not need to do it again. Either that, or the partner I am working with is sequencing procedures differently.

Now, on to studying for my license......

I too was approached by NYL. I met with the managing partner and was given the project 200 and had to fill out the application for background check. This was my first interview. They will not go further unless I supply them the project 200. I dont even have my license yet and they recommended a school run by a NYL agent. This flew up red flags for me personally.

I agree that if they did not mention your prior meeting they might not keep the records for over a certain period of time. Most companies dont keep potential hires for more than 6 months.

Good luck!

They only make money if you actually sell insurance.

Ok, got an update... I actually did receive the project 200. I just hadn't checked my email as thoroughly. Oops! I had gotten so caught up studying for the exam. The underwriting section is what is killing me right now. Looked at the lesson twice, took notes, read all of the provided reading material, and still made a 77 on my section test. Made 92s on the first two sections. Ugh!

~taking deep breaths~ this too, shall pass....
