Interview with a P&C Agency

I have just pass the P & C exam in Pa. I have a interview with a insurance agency on Tuesday. I want to stay independent. He is hiring agents as 1099 independent contractors, also training will be provided. What should I ask for as far as a split? What should I not except? What is the difference between having my own code and using the agency code?

This question depends on the states. Per some states they require each 10-99 to have their own appointments unless working out of the same office at the agency owner. Good luck.

Thanks Steve for the info and the link.

Hey Xrac
Are you sure you will be a success in the insurance business. Perhaps you should consider a career in construction. LOL

You're welcome. The reason I gave you that link was I thought you had indicated on another thread that you are interested in L&H (Life & Health).

Yes Steve. I joined WFG and am excited to learn all I can. I love to learn and being a paralegal/accountant, insurance and investments should be fascinating to me.

Ouch!,WFG, What kind of % are you getting? We spent a lot of time with MAH, getting her pointed in the right direction, Use the search, and look up WFG, I am not knocking the company, but if they give you low commissions, you will have trouble making a living. Mah, is also in calif, I think she is in the LA, area. Talk with her, you need 3 more posts, then you can message her.
