Is this Normal for this Time of Year?

For some reason, December has been one of my better months every year for the 7 years I've been selling, with the exception of last year which sucked. But I'm doing pretty good again this year.

I always figure it's because the rest of you get bombed on nog and I pick up the slack.

ahh... December slow yes but if you work the phones you will be so busy com Jan, Feb and so on you wont know what to do. December is our annual 30 day thumb twiddle.

We started the month out incredibly strong. As of last Friday, I had written 15 autos, 5 homes and 10 others. This week has been slow slow slow but my coworker has been out with the flu so it has been catch up time with filing, completing other paperwork, etc.

Seems there is no rhyme or reason to how busy we are.

Yes, the holidays are always the slowest times for insurance. We actually see a lower trend in buying insurance in the month of November compared to any other month. The second lowest is than December.

A lot of it has to do with people spending money on shopping for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas. But do not worry because things pick up in January. We always find that our best months are January, February, and March.

Best of luck on your new agency!

Well I am glad it isn't just my offices! I honestly have gotten so disgusted that the production is so bad I told my staff that I will be back in after Christmas. I have some things I need to take care of anyway but I just can't take it. I have been busy with year end stuff and I am just ready for a break and with it this slow I am going to step out and hope that they are busy as hell while I am out. (That's what usually happens) :)

My CL producer picked up a huge account so premium wise we are doing ok. But I am a application guy the more the better. So it hasn't been terrible but it sure hasn't been great!

Thanks for making me feel better was starting to get worried!
