It Does Not Look Good for Agents Selling Medicare Supplements.

Re: It Does Not Look Good for Agents Selling Medicare Supplements

Its a "supplemental insurance" which is the reason this entire thread is pointless. The healthcare bill does not mention secondary, optional supplemental insurances. Medicare A and B is already garuntee issue. I have checked with the legal dept one of the largest GAs in Arizona who confirmed both the negative effect on comissions the 85% loss ratio will have on IFP and Group after jan and also confirmed that medicare supplements are not effected by this legislation. I have very reliable sources that I have known for years on a personal level. So Please do get out the med supp market! Ill stick around and rake in the dough. You guys all probably think the world is going to end in 2012 don't you... Group think is sometimes dangerous.:goofy:

I have been saying that since this thread first started. I finally quit posting because it is evident to me that there is a group out there that insists on being negative and making assumptions based on very limited information.

I also have sources who I have talked to who's opinion I trust. There is nothing to be gained by preaching doom and gloom. I really don't have time to dwell on and listen to all that rhetoric.

Azmedsupagent, I think we need to talk and begin dividing the states between us. I'm not getting out of the Med Supp business either.

Just think about how much money we are going to make when all of the naysayers get out of the business. I've already started picking out the color of the corporate jet. :D

At this point, anyone's opinion plus $1.50 gets you a cup of coffee. So everyone can disregard "but I heard" and "my FMO said."

Believe me, I would take the neighbors dogs advice over these blow hards secret sources! They couldnt be honest and admit they dont know if their life depended on it. The real answer is it will take 2 years and 2 thousand lawyers and government employees to disect that health care bill and give us the final answer.:1arghh:

No doubt this is true, but only a fool would fail to acknowledge that there will be continuing downward pressure on health insurance comp - of all kinds - going forward.

Doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

There is a 100% chance comp is going down moving forward. That agents will be out of business? Some will. Others won't.
