This was last year's article about Paul Ryan and his "empty" threats to sue the Obama administration over violations of the law in regards to DACA.

But as we know today, California is suing Trump for repealing the originally illegal act in the first place.

And why didn't the GOP sue? I don't know. I suppose that's the problem with individualistic politics - sometimes it's hard to get people to stand behind you when you're right.

You keep saying DACA is illegal. Can you explain why you believe this?

That's not a cogent legal argument, it's a bumper sticker. Can you seriously explain why you think DACA is illegal. There is actually a few theories being tried in the courts at present. Feel free to pick one.

And, if it were truly "illegal" why did Trump allow it for months into his presidency and only phasing it out?

In truth he is ending a program and it has nothing to do with legality. If we handcuffed the executive branch and did not allow it prioritize the country would be a mess.

As far as Trump merely 'phasing it out'... Trump does have a heart. He's phasing it out to allow Congress to actually do the job they are hired/elected to do.

Hopefully, they'll actually DO something.

No. You have every right to oppose deferring action on a class of people, but the president has the authority to do so under article II of the constitution. The only reason DAPA was stopped was because of a procedural inconsistency in rule making.
