It is Now Trump's War

When the need for labor increases, compensation will increase too - to attract what employers want - not necessarily 'bodies' to do a job, but higher quality workers.

The problem is that higher yield businesses don't necessarily need a lot of labor. They need fewer but higher skilled labor.

Conservatives (most of whom are Republicans) would like to bring this country back to the 30s... when white Christian men ran everything and shot, burned and lynched those who disagreed with them... especially minorities.

Republicans have no use for...

Voting rights laws
Public accommodation laws
Child labor laws
Seat-belt and helmet laws
Workplace safety laws
Food inspection laws
Min. wage laws
Miranda laws

and the list goes on and on.

I got to say I think republicans are just making it up as they go along at this point. One day they're supply siders and on the other they want higher wagers, one day they want free market capitalism and the next they are against free trade and immigration. The only thing they are consistent about are race issues and civil rights, they despise those.

But this is why we are seeing a slow roll demolition of our country under total republican control. They have no idea how to govern because their philosophy is sound bites on television for whatever gets them through the day.

Taxes are up now. What do they want? I'm reading the prevailing idea is to pay for business tax cuts by cutting individual right offs, mortgage interest, state and local deductions etc. I don't think that is going to go over so well with home owners pay down a mortgage and paying property taxes. As if wall st isn't getting enough of a break.

I was reading about one of the biggest proponents of the business tax cut is the CEO of at&t the only problem with this is at&t has an effective tax rate of 8%. What is he really complaining about?

Anyway, I'm sure you've noticed the conservatives have mysteriously dropped off the face of the earth on this forum. It's not hard to guess why, Trump has been a total disaster. They should be ashamed.

I don't think a Zombie usually has that broad a vocabulary. Maybe one, or two of those at at a time.

Hah. The problem is the republicans have totally failed at governance. It is pathetic to watch Trump try to take credit for an economy he has not improved in any way. And it was sad to watch republicans try with all of their might to strip upwards of 20 million people of health coverage. Now Trump has thrown an entire class of blameless young people's lives into doubt needlessly.

I've watched Trump alienate our allies, coddle and aid some enemies and senselessly provoke others.

Yeah, I have no problem saying Trump is terrible and should be removed from office asap.

True that the stock market has already factored in a reduction in taxes that hasn't passed yet. And I do find it funny that the GOP has now taken credit for the reduced unemployment figures, but kept saying that it wasn't including everyone because of so many people who gave up looking for work. I'm waiting to hear a negative unemployment figure (meaning that we have more people at work than was previously estimated).

Increasing Obamacare premiums will take care of that all on its own.

Media brainwashing about the "noble intentions" of his predecessor and Trump being the evil, uncaring one for undoing it. It's like grandpa saying that your kids can have chocolate ice cream, but didn't check with you - the parent- first. Now, because you, as the parent, said no... YOU are the bad guy.

Like sending our enemies billions of dollars in cash and supplying them with arms so they might leave US alone? Oh wait... that wasn't Trump.

Yeah, I have no problem saying Trump is terrible and should be removed from office asap.

Obama was worse. But I guess it's okay because "Obama meant well" regardless of laws, allies, enemies, etc.

The stock market is pumped to fall. Are you watching the dollar lose strength, though? This is not because of quantitative easing, it's because Trump has depreciated global confidence in America. An unmanaged weakening of our dollar is a very bad thing. This is probably why we don't see Winter anymore, he must have lost his shirt.

I used to think the republicans were crazy when they would say Obamacare was the path to single payer, now I think so too. Not because it was a democrat plan but because republicans have threatened to pull coverage from such a large amount of people the rest of the nation started to at attention and democrats now have the high ground on healthcare. It's a major political bungle what happened over the summer.

You are comparing the lives of people to grandparents spoiling their grandchildren. I disagree with that because you are trivializing a very serious situation. The young people in the DACA program are some of the best and brightest in this country. Not one person in that program has a felony, they have higher educational attainment and/or enrollment than the nation as a whole. They also have a low unemployment rate.

Do you think NK will have a better outcome under Trump than Iran under Obama?

First, yes, I think the stock market will have a crash if tax reform isn't passed in a timely manner. It rose based on over-optimism that hasn't been proven yet.

Yeah, the increasing premiums won't do that on its own and Democrats have the "moral high ground" because they want the healthy people to subsidize the care of those who are not healthy.

It's like taking student's A grades and averaging them out to the D students so they all earn C grades. Sure, maybe the D students have ADHD and it's not their fault, but is it fair for the A student to lose their A grade to someone who can't (or won't) study and do the work?

Socialized health care is simply another step towards socialism that crushes the individual spirit.

We have laws and are a nation of laws. DACA was done by executive order - because Congress couldn't pass a law. Laws are supposed to come from Congress - the Legislative branch - not the President - the Executive branch.

Let Congress finally do something about it and do it the RIGHT way by passing a law. It was an illegal executive order and Obama was "giving out candy" like grandparents... and now Trump is showing up like a parent and doing it right - just like kids resent their parents.

Yes, it's trivializing - and that's how the mainstream media is portraying it.

Do you think NK will have a better outcome under Trump than Iran under Obama?

Yes - because we won't be capitulating to a dictator.

The way health insurance works IS healthy people pay for the care of sick people. Are you against health insurance? You do realize that is how all of our health insurance works and had worked for... let's see... hmm... ever.

DACA was not illegal, the president has limited resources to execute laws and can prioritize how to spend resources. It is totally within reason to focus resources on criminals.

Republicans are incapable of passing any meaningful legislation whatsoever. What makes you think they can pass an immigration bill?
