Insurance doesn't work when there is adverse selection. Do you know what that is? That's when all the healthy people leave a plan and insurance companies stick with all the SICK people. That's why insurance companies are leaving Obamacare and why there are MONOPOLIES of insurance companies for entire states.

Right now, that's EXACTLY what's going on.


Let the Democrats propose a reasonable immigration bill. Don't think it's limited only to the GOP. Come up with something that doesn't use the word "amnesty", and maybe something can be done.

Uninsured people raise your premiums. There is no way out of this because end of life care and hospitalization are the main drivers of insurance costs and even before aca all hospital were required to provide stabilizing or end of life care regardless of coverage.

Pre-x is it though and capping lifetime limits. There is a hemophiliac in a county in Iowa that is devastating the market. If he was denied for pre x and capped at a million premiums wouldn't be out of control. The kid would be dead tho if we did that. Are you ok with that? I'm not.

There will always be adverse selection in insurance, the goal was to limit it but that was a cruel game. The truth is universal coverage with community rating is the best solution. Getting the young people in the pool is the problem. This why insurance is too expensive in America. But because a large portion of young people consistently go uncovered, as they age they have to pay higher premiums because the cycle continues.

Blue states don't have the same coverage problems as red states, so that is truly subjective to state government and which party controls it. Don't blame democrats in the federal government for republicans failing at the state level.

Democrats aren't in power, republicans are. You wanted that and now you're asking democrats to take the lead on immigration? Do you realize you're proving my point that republicans are incapable of managing the government?

This was last year's article about Paul Ryan and his "empty" threats to sue the Obama administration over violations of the law in regards to DACA.

But as we know today, California is suing Trump for repealing the originally illegal act in the first place.
