Is it over? Who are these carriers? OFF exchange I'm assuming.

EHEALTH INC has added a news release to its Investor Relations website.
Title: Missed the 12/15 Deadline? eHealth Identifies 37 States Where Consumers May Still Enroll in Health Insurance for Coverage Starting January 1

eHealthInsurance.com Investor Relations

December 19, 2014: States with at least one health insurance company accepting applications for January 1 coverage until December 19, 2014 include: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
December 20, 2014: States with at least one health insurance company accepting applications for January 1 coverage until December 20, 2014 include: Texas, Maryland, and Virginia.

Good Stuff! Interested in the carriers as well. Looking at the carriers off exchange sites I'm not seeing the change. Must be a parking lot deal with HC.gov and the apps they are sending through.

Humana is taking off-exchange apps through 12/19. Carefirst BCBS is still quoting 1/1 effective dates on their off-exchange site too.

Humana's extension offer for a 1/1/2015 effective date requires beginning the enrollment by 12/19, finishing it by 12/21, and having the signature done by 12/31 (whether it's electronic, telephonic, or pen signature).

Last year Time (Assurant) was taking 1st of the month apps up to the last day of the prior month. I have no idea what they are doing this year.

So far..........no backing down

Deadline: December 15

It's time to get covered: If you haven't picked a plan yet, you risk starting the New Year without coverage. December 15 is the deadline for coverage starting on January 1

I received word today from Cigna and Humana that off exchange business written by Dec. 19th will be given a Jan. 1st effective date. Healthcare.gov handed out their last minute extensions again last night for callers since they weren't even answering the phones. Who had ten on it being extended again? Pay up.

FYI you can still get a January 1st effective date on Healthcare.Gov by clicking the box that you lost coverage by __ date and creating a special election period. The only reason I realized this was Healthcare.Gov did this for one of my clients and I was able to figure out what they did.

Unless the client is truly loosing coverage....Isn't that fraud?
