One issue regarding heaped commissions vs levelized commissions is one company: Ohio National. They stopped paying trail commissions when they (briefly) left the annuity industry. The company risk... can be too great, unfortunately by past precedent.

I would think so. The competitiveness of carriers changes. But the concepts have not changed since 2020.
