Join Thrivent or MassMutual

OK it's me again with a newbie question. After a small stint with Modern Woodmen of America and experiencing the lack of trustworthiness there I've been offered a position with Thrivent and MassMutual.

My question is the career agent route worth the lack of comp? With MassMutual I'll have the opportunity to go independent and keep my book of business.

Is anyone on here with Thrivent? Maybe you can shed some light with Thrivent.

Basically it was "here watch videos". Then there was some contradiction on when to schedule appointments, then I found out I was captive. Overall it wasn't pleasant working with my Managing Partner.

Well, between the two, Thrivent serves Lutherans as a fraternal benefit organization. That limits whom you work with or you'll be selling "memberships":

Between the two, I'd go for MassMutual - but keep in mind that your agency leadership makes a difference as each office can be led and managed differently from others.

Thrivent sells to everyone now. They started out selling to Lutherans only, but that changed 5 or 6 years ago.
